The workmanship of the artisans of hides and footwear in Medieval times was even then based on age-old traditions which developed above all in the geographical areas that are now part of Italy and where today"s shoe manufacturing districts are found (The Marches, Venetia, Tuscany, Lombardy, Apulia, Campania, Emilia Romagna).
