The largest winter sports fair in the Nordic countries — SKIEXPO 2006 — will open the winter season at the Helsinki Fair Centre on 3—5 November. Downhill and cross-country skiing, snowboarding, winter travel and fashions will be on display. SKIEXPO has continued to grow and will now fill three halls at the Helsinki Fair Centre with new products and programme. It will include over 130 exhibitors and nearly 300 brands. Most of the exhibition will focus on presenting new products for the coming winter season to consumers. Visitors can compare and see all the most important brands in the field under the same roof. Importers and manufacturers, who are the best experts, will tell about their products and their properties. SKIEXPO will also have a sales area where visitors can buy equipment and clothes. Distinctive products that are not found in shops will also be on sale at SKIEXPO.

Finland’s ski resorts will be well represented at SKIEXPO. Visitors can also find out about skiing trips to slopes in Europe and other winter destinations. New exhibitors will include Switzerland and Canada, where the 2010 Winter Olympics will be held. Sweden will be more visible thanks to the Alpine World Ski Championships in Еre in February 2007. Downhill skiing continues to grow in popularity. Ski tunnels have been a big hit since they can be used year round, no matter what the weather is like. Technical innovations and the latest trends for ski tracks and slopes will be on display at fashion shows of SKIEXPO. Canada, the host of the 2010 Winter Olympics, will survey the latest developments on the equipment front at its seminars.
