The International Exhibition for Hunters and Fishermen Jagen und Fischen was first held in 1987.Over 42,000 visitors came to the 13th International Exhibition for Hunters and Fishermen, which ran from 28 March to 1 April 2007 at the New Munich Trade Fair Centre. They came to find out about all the latest trends and to buy equipment in readiness for the coming hunting and fishing season.

The number of visitors matched the levels achieved in 2005. And among the visitors from outside Germany, the numbers doubled. Once again there was strong interest from Italy and Austria. Interest in Jagen und Fischen is also growing among eastern European countries, shown in the presence of delegations and rising numbers of visitors from the Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovenia, Serbia and Romania. In the visitor survey 81% of respondents rated Jagen und Fischen as “excellent” or “good”. Particular praise went to the new section called Bayern Life. Top marks went to the sections on hunting and hunting dogs (95% of respondents gave this rating), weapons and accessories (89%), and clothing and accessories (87%). This positive mood was also reflected in a willingness to buy: 90% of respondents said they had bought something at the fair, and 79% said they would be making further purchases after the fair.
